Interview

This gives us a chance to meet each other and talk about your upcoming birth. I can answer any questions you may have before you make a decision to hire me. This initial interview is free of charge.

Prenatal Visits

I will meet with you to become familiar with your birth plan, preferences, priorities, or concerns. These visits are important to help build trust and support. Prenatal preparation is to help you expand your expectations for labor, birth and parenthood. Giving you tools to cope with and look at to adapt to the unknowns of pregnacy, birth and parenthood. Because each pregnancy and labor is different in it's own unique way ,

multiple visits allows me to better understand your families specific needs and desires.

I can also point you in the direction for obtaining more information in order to better educate you as to what options you have for your upcoming birth.

Phone and email support

I will offer unlimited phone, email, and text consults to answer questions that arise during pregnancy, to assist you in your decisions or simply talk about your exciting adventure ahead.

During Labor

I will assist you in labor either at your home or a birthing center or at the hospital and will remain with you continuously through the birth of your baby. I will suggest comfort measures, provide emotional and information support to ease discomfort during labor. It is my duty to keep you and your partner informed about what is going on during labor. I will ensure that you get the evidenced based information you need to make the important decisions about your birth. My role is very flexible. I can be as involved as you want me to be or I can fill in when needed or both. I am dedicated to working with your care giving team to provide the support and comfort you need that no one else can provide. With your permission and your camera I can assist in taking pictures during labor, birth and after your baby is born. I am not responsible for the quality of the pictures. I will do my best to get good pictures but my first priority is taking care of you. Every birth is unique and different and I will be honored to be a part of your birth team.

Baby's First Feeding Support

I will be happy to assist you with the initial feeding of your baby and offer you tips and support during your postpartum time with your baby.

Postpartum Follow-up Visit

I will visit with you at the hospital or at home or both to discuss your birth, share your birth time line, assist and answer questions on breastfeeding, new baby care and any postpartum concerns you may have. I can also give you referrals if necessary.

Lending Library

I have pregnancy and birth books that I can lend out when needed. Please just ask.

As a Doula, I Do Not:

Perform any clinical tasks

I do not perform any clincial tasks, such as taking blood pressure, fetal heart checks, vaginal exams, etc. I am there to provide physical, emotional and informational support and advocacy.

Make decisions for you

I will help you get the information necessary to make an informed decision. I will also remind you if there is a departure from your birth plan.

Speak to the staff on your behalf

I will discuss your concerns with you and suggest options. I will help you identify key questions that may help with your decisions. However, you and your partner are the best people to speak to the clinical staff.

Fees

A deposit is due when you hire me as your doula and when we sign a contract.

Then the balance is due four weeks before your due date.

I believe every family deserves a doula. I do offer other payment plans and options if needed. Just ask.

I will be happy to provide you with my fee upon request along with references from previous clients, and any other information you need to make your decision. I do offer Placenta Encapsulation for my clients only. There is a separate fee for this.
